About this role
This is a 2026 summer internship for a Designer/Drafter supporting the Phillips 66 Borger Refinery. The intern will create and update technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD or other drafting software while working under supervision and following refinery safety and confidentiality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize AutoCAD or other drafting software to produce and update drawings
- Collaborate with senior drafters and engineers to create detailed technical drawings and schematics
- Follow instructions from supervisors and implement assigned tasks
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality (may require non-disclosure/confidentiality agreement)
- Support refinery intern duties with strong communication and work ethic
Technical Overview
The technical scope focuses on drafting work: producing and updating drawings and collaborating with senior drafters and engineers to develop detailed technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD/CAD. The role also uses Microsoft Office Products for basic computer work and operational tasks related to the intern program.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a student pursuing a degree in drafting or engineering who is available for a minimum of eight continuous weeks. They should be able to use AutoCAD or drafting software to produce/update drawings and work effectively with engineers and senior drafters in a refinery environment that emphasizes safety and confidentiality.
