About this role
Aflac seeks a 2026 Summer Legal Intern to support corporate-focused legal work through legal research, memo/brief drafting, and preparation of corporate transaction documents. The role is hybrid with at least 60% of time in the Columbus, GA office and requires proficiency in Westlaw and/or Lexis Nexis.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned intern duties under experienced personnel
- Conduct legal research and writing
- Prepare research memos and briefs
- Prepare corporate transaction documents
- Participate in feedback roundtables and support continuous improvement
Technical Overview
The technical scope is legal research and drafting rather than software engineering. Interns will use Westlaw and/or Lexis Nexis to produce research memos and briefs for corporate transactions while developing professional communication and project support skills.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a rising 2L or 3L student at an ABA-approved law school actively pursuing a Juris Doctorate (JD). They have strong legal research and writing skills and can draft research memos, briefs, and corporate transaction documents. They are proficient with Westlaw and/or Lexis Nexis and communicate effectively in a hybrid work environment requiring time in Columbus, GA.
