About this role
The Account Manager proactively maintains and retains existing commercial and industrial waste customers within an assigned territory. The role also increases customer penetration by selling Republic Services’ full suite of products and managing renewals and cancellation requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and retain existing customers through long-term relationships and loyalty
- Develop and maintain knowledge of services, lines of business, pricing structures, and offers
- Perform contractual re-signs and manage customer profitability
- Respond to cancellation requests aligned with escalation policy
- Use Salesforce daily to schedule and document calls, meetings, and proposals
Technical Overview
This is a sales/account role with direct operational use of Salesforce for daily scheduling and documentation of customer interactions, calls, meetings, and proposals. It focuses on account activity tracking, pricing initiative support, and retention reporting.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level Account Manager with at least 1 year of relevant sales experience and strong experience maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships in an assigned territory. They are comfortable working in a waste or transportation environment, using Salesforce daily to document calls, meetings, and proposals, and supporting pricing and renewal activities.
