About this role
Univar Solutions is hiring an Account Manager responsible for accounts in the Fort St John and surrounding area. The role focuses on consultative selling, growing the industrial footprint, maintaining a high-integrity sampling program, and coordinating with operations, customer service, and purchasing to ensure strong service and product availability. Out-of-town travel is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively plan customer visits 1-2 weeks in advance
- Call on established and prospective customers to sell company products and services
- Grow industrial footprint within Fort St John and surrounding areas
- Maintain a high-integrity sampling program for key customers
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Operations and Purchasing to resolve complaints and ensure product availability
Technical Overview
This sales role requires disciplined account execution supported by Salesforce.com for managing customer information during planning. It also includes structured operational coordination (sampling, complaint resolution, and product availability) with internal teams.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level Account Manager with 2-3 years of sales and/or customer-facing experience and a strong foundation in business or technical studies (Technical Science, Chemistry, Business). They can lead account growth using a consultative selling process, maintain a high-integrity sampling program, and coordinate with Customer Service/Operations and Purchasing. They also use Salesforce.com to manage customer information during planning and are comfortable with out-of-town travel.
