About this role
Univar Solutions is hiring an Account Manager - Natural Gas to own assigned accounts within the Grande Prairie area and grow profit and market share. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities at existing and prospective customers while coordinating service, operations, sampling, and purchasing needs. Out-of-town travel is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively plan customer visits 1-2 weeks in advance
- Call on established and prospective customers to sell company products and services
- Grow industrial footprint in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas
- Maintain a high-integrity sampling program for key customers
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Operations plus Purchasing to resolve complaints and ensure product availability
Technical Overview
This is a sales/commerce role with tool usage centered on Salesforce.com for managing customer information and planning sales activities. It requires structured account management practices such as high-integrity sampling program maintenance and coordination with internal operations and purchasing teams.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level sales professional with 2-3 years of prior outside sales and/or customer-facing experience, ideally with chemical sales exposure. They are comfortable running a consultative selling process, planning customer visits ahead of time, and managing account growth using Salesforce.com. They communicate effectively at all customer levels and can coordinate with operations and purchasing to ensure service and product availability.
