About this role
This role manages complex accounting projects and ensures accurate accounting records and timely preparation of financial statements. You will oversee key month-end close duties, ensure GAAP compliance, perform reconciliations, and drive process improvements across affiliates and divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise maintenance of complex accounting records and related functions
- Oversee preparation of daily entries, monitoring accounts, and maintaining account balances
- Oversee preparation of monthly financial statements
- Ensure compliance with Bancorp accounting policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Coordinate month end accounting activities and ensure timely, accurate completion of entries and reports
Technical Overview
The position focuses on accounting operations rather than software engineering: maintaining detailed records, running daily and monthly accounting processes, ensuring proper documentation of transactions and G/L entries, and implementing accounting standards changes. It also involves coordinating month-end activities and identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks in line with the bank’s risk appetite.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an Accounting Manager with experience managing complex accounting projects and overseeing month-end close activities. They have strong GAAP knowledge, run reconciliations and financial statement preparation, and can drive process improvements and automation while coordinating with finance and business partners.
