About this role
Lead the operational insurance close and reporting processes for the US and Bermuda, focusing on close execution and process optimization. Partner across teams to improve workflow efficiency, ensure accurate journal entries and reconciliations, and support audit and statutory/regulatory deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing and reporting processes
- Collaborate to identify, design, and implement process improvements for greater efficiency
- Review journal entries and complex account reconciliations with audit remediation
- Assume primary responsibility for monthly underwriting system close and act as accounting-to-IT liaison
- Support compilation/review of insurance company financial statements for statutory and regulatory deadlines
Technical Overview
Own the monthly underwriting system close and serve as the accounting liaison to IT for responsible insurance systems. Review journal entries and complex account reconciliations, and collaborate on implementation/testing of insurance system changes that impact accounting and reporting.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior accounting professional with 4+ years of accounting experience focused on insurance operational close activities. They have strong Excel skills and experience owning general ledger closing and reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual), including journal entries and complex account reconciliations with audit compliance.
