About this role
This Accounting Specialist role provides accounting system and operational support by analyzing transactions, resolving processing issues, and ensuring accurate general ledger activity. The person will partner with internal stakeholders and Managed Service Providers to support SOX compliance, system enhancements, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze accounting transactions and ensure integrity of accounting records
- Monitor Managed Service Provider (MSP) activity and journal entries to the general ledger
- Provide technical accounting system support including adhoc reports and security access
- Support SOX compliance including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation and testing
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend solutions to streamline workflow and reduce costs
Technical Overview
The work centers on accounting system/platform support including journal entry and general ledger accuracy, troubleshooting user access and data issues, and assisting with workflow changes. Responsibilities also include supporting Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation/testing and coordinating business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years of accounting experience directly aligned to general ledger support, journal entry accuracy, and SOX/internal control compliance. They are comfortable partnering with Managed Service Providers, troubleshooting accounting system and user access issues, and supporting process improvements and documentation/testing activities for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
