About this role
The Activity Therapist plans and implements activity services across multiple programs, working as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team to improve psychosocial and leisure skills for patients ranging from preschool through geriatrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate responsibility for observation and sound judgment
- Observe and document changes in patients' appearance
- Communicate changes to Charge Nurse or Program Coordinator
- Provide assessment in psychosocial/leisure and recreational skills development
- Maintain weekly progress notes and plan therapy groups
Technical Overview
Clinical therapy disciplines include art therapy, recreation therapy, music therapy, and expressive therapies; role emphasizes activity group facilitation, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an Art Therapist or recreation/expressive therapist with strong experience in pediatric and adult behavioral health, capable of planning and leading therapeutic activity groups.
