About this role
Actuarial Analyst (Hybrid) supports the core ratemaking process for property and casualty lines, including rate revisions and segmentation analysis. The role also updates predictive models and contributes to loss forecasting and loss reserving systems and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and maintain predictive models
- Develop state rate level indications and support rate filings
- Perform segmentation analysis and support rate revisions
- Maintain losses incurred forecast and loss reserving database systems and reports
- Assist in property and casualty reserve needs and deviation analysis versus annual profit plan
Technical Overview
Performs actuarial modeling and statistical analysis to support state rate level indications and rate filings with state insurance departments. Works with losses incurred forecasting systems and loss reserving database systems, including factor reserves and unknown injury reserves, and helps quantify impacts of risks on underwriting results.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an early-career actuarial professional focused on basics of ratemaking, segmentation analysis, and predictive modeling for property and casualty pricing. They are actively pursuing an Associate or Fellow track in the Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS/FCAS) and have experience with statistical/actuarial analysis, data forecasting, and actuarial modeling.
