About this role
This internship places an Actuarial Intern under the direction of a credentialed actuary across multiple actuarial tracks such as experience studies, valuation, risk management, and product pricing. The intern will research problems, analyze data, and present findings while participating in study-hour-friendly work planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on experience studies, valuation, risk management, or corporate modeling
- Assist with life, Long Term Care, Disability Income, and Annuity Pricing
- Research problems, analyze data, and present findings
- Support projects equivalent to fulltime employee work
- Use Excel or similar tools for analysis and reporting
Technical Overview
The internship supports actuarial work including experience studies, valuation, risk management, corporate modeling, and pricing for life, Long Term Care, Disability Income, and annuities. The role involves heavy data analysis and presentation, with Excel (or similar tools) expected.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an undergraduate majoring in Actuarial Science (or related) with at least a 3.00 GPA and strong analytical and communication skills. They can work full-time hours during the summer and have either completed an SOA exam or have prior actuarial internship experience (preferred), with working knowledge of Excel.
