Occidental Petroleum seeks an AI Optimization Engineer to apply advanced optimization, AI, and machine learning techniques to build and improve decision systems within the Applied AI Center of Excellence in Houston.

Key Responsibilities

Apply advanced optimization and ML techniques to decision systems

Build data input/output pipelines and APIs

Technical Overview

Role focuses on continuous/combinatorial optimization, AI/ML, data pipelines, and APIs, using Python and C/C++ with strong mathematical foundations (linear algebra, statistics). On-site in Houston with a focus on actionable, business-facing results.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a PhD-level AI/ML expert with strong optimization skills and experience applying ML/DL to decision systems. Proficiency in Python and preferably C/C++, with the ability to build data pipelines and APIs and communicate complex results to business stakeholders in an energy context.
