AWS Environmental seeks a senior Air Quality Modeler to lead dispersion modeling and regulatory permitting for AMER data centers, developing tools and coordinating with regulatory bodies and consultants.

  • Function as a leader for air dispersion modeling work in AMER by completing air dispersion modeling analyses in support of air permitting and strategic data center planning and design
  • Develop air dispersion modeling tools and mechanisms which provide efficient technical oversight to environmental and partner teams
  • Collaborate with relevant business units such as environmental infrastructure development, design engineering, due diligence, real estate, construction, and operations beginning early in the capacity planning and site selection process and throughout the design phase of facilities to ensure future compliance with environmental regulations and air dispersion modeling thresholds
  • Manage contracts, budgets, and relationships with environmental consultants and vendors to complete air permit applications, air dispersion modeling analyses and perform air emissions testing
  • Prepare air permit applications in AMER by managing the preparation of air permit applications for new construction, modifications, amendments, and renewals

Role focuses on advanced air dispersion modeling (AERMOD), air quality regulatory assessments, and multi-level permitting. Strong collaboration with environmental teams, design engineers, and external partners is required, with emphasis on AMER region compliance.

The ideal candidate is a senior environmental modeler with 5+ years of AERMOD dispersion modeling experience, strong regulatory knowledge across North America, and proven ability to lead air permitting projects and manage stakeholders.

5+ years with air dispersion modeling analyses (AERMOD) in support of air permit applications and NAAQS evaluations5+ years with air quality regulatory assessments and air emissions evaluations5+ years with air permitting at localstate (e.g.minor source/synthetic minor source)and federal (e.g. Title VNSRPSD) levels3+ years with engine specific regulations including 40 CFR 63 Subpart ZZZZ and 40 CFR 60 Subpart IIII
