About this role
Applied Scientist II on the Sponsored Products Marketplace Intelligence team, responsible for building production ML models to personalize ad allocation and ranking on the search results page.
Key Responsibilities
- Tackle challenging science and business problems
- Develop real-time ML algorithms to allocate billions of ads per day
- Design multi-objective optimization and AI control methods
- End-to-end ML project delivery
- Run A/B experiments and statistical analysis
Technical Overview
Hands-on ML and optimization in production, with emphasis on bandit learning, online experimentation, and LLM/GenAI integration for ad ranking. Proficient in Java/C++/Python with distributed computing experience.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level ML engineer with 3+ years building models for ads and search ranking, strong experience with bandit/online experimentation, and production ML experience using Java/C++/Python in a large tech environment.
