About this role
Amazon is hiring an Area Manager II to lead an hourly workforce and ensure strong shift execution across safety, quality, attendance, and performance. The role is responsible for meeting customer delivery promises while partnering with support teams to deliver business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
- Collaborate with support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources
- Lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical shift tasks
- Work a flexible schedule (weekends and/or overnight shifts)
Technical Overview
This role centers on operations execution within fulfillment workflows (first mile, middle mile, last mile). The manager applies performance metrics and process improvement methodologies (Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma) to improve productivity and operational reliability.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an Area Manager with 2+ years of employee and performance management experience, experienced leading an hourly workforce to meet safety, quality, attendance, and performance targets. They use performance metrics and process improvement methods such as Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma to improve operations. They are flexible and able to work weekends and/or overnight shifts in a delivery environment.
