About this role
Amazon is seeking an Area Manager II to lead an hourly workforce and ensure consistent delivery of safety, quality, attendance, and performance outcomes. The role focuses on maintaining customer order delivery expectations by partnering with multiple support teams to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
- Collaborate with support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources
- Lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical shift tasks
- Work a flexible schedule (weekends and/or overnight shifts)
Technical Overview
The role manages operational execution across fulfillment workflows (first mile, middle mile, last mile). The manager applies performance metrics and process improvement approaches including Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma to improve productivity and operational results.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an Area Manager with 2+ years of employee and performance management experience, experienced leading an hourly workforce to meet safety, quality, attendance, and performance targets. They leverage performance metrics and process improvement methodologies such as Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma. They can work flexible schedules including weekends and overnight shifts in a delivery operations environment.
