About this role
As an Area Manager II, you lead hourly teams to maintain safety, quality, attendance, and performance while ensuring customer orders are delivered on time. You coordinate across multiple support functions and drive continuous process improvements in a first-mile/middle-mile/last-mile operating model.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate hourly workforce
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
- Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources
- Meet customer expectations for on-time delivery
- Work flexible shifts and perform physically demanding duties (up to 49 pounds lift, 12-hour standing/walking)
Technical Overview
This is an operations leadership role focused on managing workflows across first mile, middle mile, and last mile. The role emphasizes operational execution (safety/quality/productivity) and continuous improvement using Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma concepts.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has 2+ years of employee and performance management experience and can lead hourly teams with a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises. They are comfortable working flexible schedules (weekends/nights/holidays) and can collaborate across Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources. Bonus if they have experience with performance metrics and process improvement using Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma.
