About this role
Assessment Clinician handles telephonic, telehealth, and in-person risk assessments, coordinates referrals and admissions, and determines appropriate level of care for psychiatric patients in a PRN role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform initial clinical assessments to determine level of care
- Coordinate and disposition of all referral calls to appropriate level of care
- Complete admissions with psychiatrists and nursing staff
- Complete pre-certification information and forward to appropriate agencies
- Maintain communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff
Technical Overview
Clinical screening and intake workflow in a psychiatric hospital environment; requires crisis intervention training and AMSR/ CPR certifications; liaison with psychiatrists, nursing staff, and families.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a licensed clinical professional with a Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Human Services and at least 3 years of mental health crisis/intake experience. They should be proficient in telephonic, telehealth, and in-person risk assessments, with strong communication and admission coordination skills.
