About this role
The Assistant Store Manager supports overall store financial performance and manages front-end operations, including accurate register execution, shrink control, and customer service training. They partner with the Store Manager and HR for personnel matters, support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), manage shrinkage, and help lead inventory processes and store compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coach employees at registers and throughout the store
- Ensure shrink control and compliance with loss prevention procedures
- Assist with Annual Operating Plan (AOP) budgeting and drive sales and profitability goals
- Lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orienting, and training efforts
- Participate in annual inventory process and oversee receiving, returns, and restocking
Technical Overview
The role includes operational governance of front-end processes with the POS (Point of Sale) environment for accurate transactions. It also uses structured business planning through Annual Operating Plan (AOP) mechanics and Profit and Loss (P&L) tracking, plus operational controls for loss prevention and inventory execution.
