About this role
This role designs and develops electrical components and control technologies for Caterpillar projects. The engineer will create schematics and layouts in AutoCAD Electrical, research hardware BOMs, and support prototype build, testing, and analysis while meeting budget and timeline milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement CAD templates for schematic development
- Research components and organize prototype build, testing, and analysis
- Develop and document functional requirements and detailed design documents
- Create electrical schematics, switchgear layouts, control panel layouts, and automation schematics
- Perform buy-build analysis and manage budget/timeline milestones
Technical Overview
The technical scope includes electrical schematic development, mechanical switchgear and control panel layout creation, and automation schematic development using AutoCAD Electrical. It also covers functional requirements documentation and buy-build analysis, supported by analytical thinking and root cause problem solving during prototype work.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an early-career electrical design engineer who can create electrical schematics and layout designs using AutoCAD Electrical, including switchgear, control panel, and automation schematics.
