About this role
Associate Network Planning Engineer is responsible for supporting GGSS deployment and sustainment for NOAA, working on multiple program initiatives as the primary contractor. The role involves interpreting designs, building system port paths, and implementing routing and LAN switching protocols in a collaborative environment.

- Review PTR and design artifacts
- Resolve design discrepancies
- Interpret engineering designs to build system port paths

- Implement LAN switching and VLAN concepts
Technical Overview
Role requires hands-on experience with routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, ISIS, BGP), LAN switching (Spanning Tree, 802.1q, ISL, VTP), network diagnostics (Wireshark, SNMP traps, TCPDump), and engineering documentation; certifications include CCNA/Juniper with DoD 8140.03 and NIST 800-181.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level network planning engineer with CCNA or Juniper certification, pursuing a Bachelor's degree or recently completed, and able to obtain NOAA Public Trust. They should be comfortable working on NOAA GGSS deployment/sustainment with routing protocols and LAN switching in an on-site environment.
