This role supports AbbVie’s Process Chemistry Chromatographic Separations Lab by developing and executing purification processes for small molecule, ADC, and peptide candidates. The scientist will handle laboratory and pilot-scale separations, analyze data, troubleshoot, and implement scalable methods under cGMP guidelines.

  • Develop and execute purification processes for small molecule, ADC, and peptide clinical candidates
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and modify chromatographic methods and purification protocols
  • Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale tasks and analyze/interpret data
  • Suggest and implement new or improved experimental protocols/techniques
  • Support continuous process improvement while adhering to cGMP and safety/quality standards

You will develop and troubleshoot preparative chromatography methods and purification protocols, including scalable pilot-scale purification. The work includes purification of peptides, ADC drug-linkers, and chiral compounds, along with isolation of low-level API impurities using chromatography and spectral analysis under cGMP expectations.

The ideal candidate is an Associate Scientist II or Scientist I with a strong Separations Science background, hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting chromatographic methods, and the ability to execute purification processes from laboratory through pilot-scale. They are familiar with cGMP expectations for process execution and can analyze and interpret chromatography and spectral data to support R&D programs, with peptide experience a strong plus.
