About this role
ADESA (a Carvana-owned company) is seeking an Auto Mechanic I to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles assigned by the Mechanical Services Manager. The role covers core systems including A/C & Heater, brakes, electrical charging/cranking systems, clutch operation, cooling systems, and lighting/electrical accessories.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair and maintain vehicles as assigned
- Perform A/C & Heater system checks (compressor power, condenser, belt tension, leaks)
- Inspect and repair brake systems including road tests
- Check electrical charging and cranking systems including batteries/alternators and wiring schematics
- Inspect and service cooling systems including pressure testing and flush/refill
Technical Overview
The technician performs system inspections and repairs using procedures such as road testing, pressure testing, and flush/refill for cooling systems. They also check batteries, alternators, belts, and interpret wiring schematics for electrical diagnostics and repairs.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an entry-level mechanic who can perform vehicle diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and safety. They are comfortable inspecting and repairing A/C & Heater systems, brakes, electrical charging/cranking systems, clutch systems, and cooling systems, including reading wiring schematics.
