About this role
Carvana is hiring an Auto Painter to prepare vehicles and perform key painting prep steps. The role focuses on priming and final sanding, along with buffing, touch-up, paint mixing, and airbrush work to get vehicles ready for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prime vehicles and perform final sanding before the vehicle is painted
- Perform buffing and touch-up work
- Mix paint and prepare for painting tasks
- Use airbrush for painting/finishing
- Support vehicle preparation workflows in inspection centers
Technical Overview
This is a hands-on automotive refinishing role involving vehicle surface prep (priming and final sanding) and finishing tasks (buffing, touch-up, paint mixing, and airbrushing). Responsibilities are centered on producing a consistent paint-ready surface for inspection center workflows.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of professional automotive painting experience and can independently prime vehicles and complete final sanding prior to painting. They are skilled with buffing, touch-up work, paint mixing, and using an airbrush, and they are comfortable working mandatory overtime when business needs require it.
