About this role
Carvana is hiring an Auto Painter to prime vehicles and perform final sanding before painting. The painter will also handle buffing, touch-up, paint mixing, and airbrush painting in a high-tech Inspection Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Prime vehicles and perform final sanding before the vehicle is painted
- Buffing and touch-up after prep
- Mix paint and apply using an airbrush
- Prepare vehicles for cosmetic paintwork (sanding, masking, taping, bagging, unbagging/tear down) as applicable
- Work mandatory overtime based on business needs
Technical Overview
This is a hands-on automotive refinishing role focused on surface preparation and finishing quality. Work includes priming, final sanding, and detailed coating prep and application tasks such as buffing, touch-up, paint mixing, and airbrushing, with potential familiarity with water-based paint and paint-prep processes.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of professional automotive painting experience and can efficiently prime vehicles and perform final sanding before painting. They are skilled in buffing, touch-up work, paint mixing, and using an airbrush, with a strong ability to meet production needs that may include mandatory overtime.
