Automation Engineer for Amazon fulfillment operations, focused on maintaining and improving automation reliability. You will troubleshoot PLC-controlled material handling control systems, analyze performance metrics, provide escalation support, and run system assessments to enhance MHE performance.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as site expert for maintaining automation systems critical to operations
Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC controllers, Ethernet/ControlNet/DeviceNet/Profibus, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, electrical distribution systems)
Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations on performance issues
Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians locally and remotely
Perform and analyze building system assessments to enhance material handling system performance

Technical Overview

The technical environment includes PLC/PC controllers and SCADA devices/programs, plus industrial networking protocols such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Profibus. Work also covers motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, and print and apply systems.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an Automation Engineer with 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience in a process or production environment. They can troubleshoot PLC-controlled material handling control systems, work with industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus), and support SCADA-based programs while improving operational reliability in fulfillment centers.
