About this role
As an Automation Engineer on Amazon’s Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, you will help maximize equipment reliability in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot and maintain material handling control systems, analyze operational performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot automation and material handling control systems
- Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations
- Provide first-level escalation for site technicians locally and remotely
- Perform and analyze building System Assessments
- Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize MHE systems and implement projects
Technical Overview
This is a controls and automation role focused on PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks including Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Profibus. You will support SCADA devices and programs, maintain automation for conveyors and sortation systems, and perform system assessments to improve material handling equipment (MHE) performance.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an early-career automation engineer with at least 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience, plus hands-on troubleshooting experience in production or process environments. They can maintain and analyze material handling equipment (MHE) control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Profibus. They are comfortable working shifts and providing first-level escalation support locally and remotely.
