About this role
Carvana is hiring an experienced automotive mechanic for the 2nd shift to handle diagnostics and a broad range of repairs. The role emphasizes complex mechanical repair work and advanced electrical diagnosis and repair, including for electric and hybrid vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general to complex repairs on all makes and models
- Diagnose advanced vehicle electrical issues (electric and hybrid vehicles)
- Repair wheel bearings and axles
- Service climate control systems including AC and heater cores
- Complete automotive diagnostics to prepare vehicles for customers
Technical Overview
Technicians perform general to complex repairs such as timing belts, suspension systems, and heavy engine work. They also diagnose and repair advanced vehicle electrical issues, including work on electric and hybrid vehicles, plus repairs to wheel bearings, axles, and climate control systems (AC and heater cores).
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced automotive technician with 3+ years of professional repair experience capable of both general and complex repairs. They have strong automotive diagnostics skills, including diagnosing and repairing advanced electrical issues for electric and hybrid vehicles, and they can complete wheel bearing/axle and climate control (AC/heater core) repairs.
