About this role
Autonomous Technology Support Technician II provides advanced support for onboard IT hardware and fleet management systems at Freeport-McMoRan's Bagdad operation, including wireless networking and low-voltage systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced support for onboard IT hardware and fleet management
- Install and maintain onboard IT hardware and wireless clients
- Troubleshoot to minimize downtime; monitor wireless infrastructure and data communications
- Mentor peers; configure and monitor network projects
- Work with low voltage onboard devices and mobile infrastructure
Technical Overview
Installs and maintains onboard IT hardware, configures wireless networks, and troubleshoots a wide range of hardware/systems; cross-trains peers and supports mine technology projects. Requires shift work and potential OT.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced field technician with onboard technology experience in mining, strong networking and low-voltage expertise, and relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, A+).
