About this role
This remote contract role supports VA/VHA needs by providing biomedical equipment and information systems support. The position focuses on secure operation and preventive/corrective maintenance for networked medical equipment and clinical information systems including MUSE and ICU-CIS, plus cybersecurity-related maintenance and project support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support VHA Office of Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) medical equipment management program
- Provide preventive and corrective maintenance and healthcare consulting
- Support technology assessment, implementation, and sustainment of medical equipment and clinical systems
- Assist with networked medical system management and cybersecurity-related maintenance nationally
- Deliver routine operational tasks and project management support for biomedical services
Technical Overview
You will provide remote biomedical engineering services tied to medical device and clinical system maintenance, including cybersecurity-related corrective and planned maintenance. The technical environment includes clinical information systems (MUSE, ICU-CIS) and national VHA HTM operational workflows, along with technology assessment, implementation, and sustainment support.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior biomedical equipment support professional with experience in a Biomedical Engineering department supporting a hospital/medical center environment. They understand VISN and VA medical center operations and can support preventive and corrective maintenance for networked medical equipment and clinical information systems such as MUSE and ICU-CIS, including cybersecurity-related maintenance activities.
