About this role
Ross Video seeks a Broadcast Production Specialist for Creative Services – Labs to support experimental and production-ready workflows in live broadcast environments. The role involves operating and assisting with live show systems, troubleshooting, translating production needs into requirements and test plans, and feeding operational feedback to software developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support on-site and remote productions including setup, rehearsals, show execution, and teardown
- Operate or assist with live production systems and workflows (switching, routing, replay, graphics, audio, intercom)
- Troubleshoot production issues and escalate complex problems; provide technical support during production windows
- Translate real production needs into clear workflow requirements and test plans
- Collaborate with software development on user stories, success criteria, edge cases, and operator experience
Technical Overview
The technical scope centers on live production systems and workflows, including switching, routing, replay, graphics, audio, intercom, and control room coordination. The specialist also supports rapid prototypes and pilots by building test plans, validating edge cases, and collecting usability feedback such as latency, timing, redundancy, and failure modes.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on broadcast production specialist with experience supporting live production workflows end-to-end: setup, rehearsals, show execution, and teardown. They can troubleshoot production issues under time pressure, translate real show needs into workflow requirements and test plans, and collaborate with software developers using user stories and usability feedback. Experience supporting customer-facing demos in live broadcast environments is strongly desired.
