About this role
The Build Line Lead is a front-line supervisor role managing hourly associates in Carvana’s Inspection Center. The position drives achievement of production targets, ensures adherence to quality standards, and collaborates with leadership to repair or reject inventory based on estimated repair cost and vehicle quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage safe movement of cars in and out of the Inspection Center while meeting production and quality goals
- Meet or exceed inventory production goals daily, weekly, and monthly
- Oversee day-to-day team activities and identify improvement opportunities
- Provide coaching, development, and performance management; resolve team conflicts
- Review and approve incoming inventory defects and lead repair or reject decisions with the Inspection Center General Manager
Technical Overview
This role is operational and quality-focused rather than software/IT. It relies on Quality Control standards to identify defects, train production associates to complete effective repairs the first time, and reduce operational re-checks and re-work delays through process compliance.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a front-line operations supervisor with experience leading hourly associates in an Inspection Center. They drive daily, weekly, and monthly production and quality results, coach teams on Quality Control standards, and make defect review and repair/reject decisions to reduce re-checks and re-work.
