About this role
The Build Line Lead is a front-line supervisor role responsible for directly managing and developing hourly associates in Carvana’s Inspection Center. The role focuses on meeting production targets, driving quality, and ensuring cars are repaired or rejected based on estimated repair cost and overall vehicle quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage safe movement of cars in and out of the Inspection Center while meeting production and quality goals
- Meet or exceed inventory production goals daily, weekly, and monthly
- Oversee day-to-day team activities and identify improvement opportunities
- Provide coaching, development, and performance management; resolve team conflicts
- Review and approve incoming inventory defects and lead repair or reject decisions with the Inspection Center General Manager
Technical Overview
This role is operational rather than software/IT. It emphasizes quality control standards for identifying mechanical and physical defects, training production associates to complete repairs effectively the first time, and reducing re-checks and re-work delays through process adherence.

The ideal candidate is a front-line operations supervisor with hands-on experience leading hourly associates in an Inspection Center environment. They consistently meet daily, weekly, and monthly production and quality goals while coaching team members and handling mechanical/physical defect review for incoming inventory.
