Sabot Consulting is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support the Department of Justice’s IT Systems Modernization initiative. The role focuses on requirements analysis, legislative impact assessment, and producing PAL documentation/artifacts for project stages.

  • Apply analytical processes to IT projects, supporting requirements gathering, business process analysis, and documentation.
  • Prepare PAL Stage 4 documentation and artifacts, including readiness assessments, requirements baselines, and operational charts.
  • Analyze legislative mandates and regulations to assess impacts on system requirements, business processes, and business rules.
  • Support Solution Integrator RFP development, evaluation, and onboarding.
  • Document complex software systems and ensure knowledge transfer for DOJ staff.

The position involves IT business systems analysis and design, including elicitation, use case development, user story mapping, and documentation using sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, and process flows. It also requires building and maintaining project repositories and supporting Solution Integrator RFP development, evaluation, and onboarding in a government setting.

The ideal candidate is a Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst with 5+ years applying analytical processes on IT projects, including 3+ years in business systems analysis and design. They have hands-on experience assessing legislative mandates and preparing Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) documentation for Stages 3 and 4 in a public sector environment, with strong stakeholder facilitation and documentation skills.
