About this role
AECOM seeks a CBTC System Engineer to provide technical authority for the review, coordination, and oversight of CBTC design and system integration activities. The role focuses on ensuring system architectures, interfaces, and deliverables meet contract requirements, operational needs, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for CBTC design and implementation
- Evaluate and guide CBTC subsystem architecture decisions
- Ensure requirements traceability and validation across interfaces
- Review and support System Integration Plan and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Review system assurance RAMS and certification readiness deliverables
Technical Overview
This position supports Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) and Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) System designs, including communications and rail system integration. It involves vital/non-vital architecture knowledge, requirement traceability, System Integration Plan and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) review, and coordination of verification/validation and safety certification across program phases.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mid-level CBTC System Engineer who can act as technical authority over CBTC design review and system integration activities. They have strong knowledge of vital and non-vital hardware/software architectures, requirements traceability, interlocking logic, and verification/validation deliverables such as ICDs and System Integration Plans.
