US Foods is hiring a CDL A Night Yard Truck Jockey to move and stage trailers, manage backhauls, and coordinate with dispatch/router for door and trailer assignments. The role is overnight and requires physical ability, safe equipment handling, and compliance with FMCSA and DOT requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments
- Keep assigned equipment coupled and move trailers between buildings
- Load, unload, or merge loads between environments
- Stage shuttle trailers nightly and set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets
- Place backhauls in correct door and ensure equipment pairing for next day's deliveries
Technical Overview
This is a logistics/yard operations role focused on trailer coupling, moving trailers between buildings, staging shuttle trailers nightly, and setting up backhauls with a tractor and empty pallets. The candidate must be able to read/write English for reports and operate in inclement weather; manual transmission is preferred and may be required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a CDL Class A driver with yard/warehouse equipment handling experience who can confidently communicate with dispatch/router teams and manage trailer door assignments. They can perform repetitive physical labor (20 to 80+ lbs), work reliably overnight, and meet compliance requirements including registration to the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
