About this role
The Chief Engineer will support projects for the US Space Force, leading end-to-end software development activities and engineering collaboration. The role emphasizes security, MBSE-based system architecture and requirements, and delivery of cloud-native and mission-specific capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in full software development lifecycle with quality and consistency
- Develop prototypes and proofs-of-concept using Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing, and debugging
- Produce and maintain system documentation and communicate complex technical details
- Implement future improvements with system engineers and software architect
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams to define and implement innovative space and communications solutions
Technical Overview
This role spans software development lifecycle work (requirements through post-production support) and prototype/proof-of-concept development using Agile practices. It requires deep MBSE experience with Cameo and SysML, implementation of security concepts into code, and experience designing DoD space systems and interfaces across ground operations.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior/lead engineering professional supporting US Space Force or similar DoD programs with 10+ years of hands-on and management experience. They have a TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility, strong software development skills (C++, C#, Java/Groovy, Python), and deep MBSE experience using Cameo and SysML, including security-by-code and zero-trust architecture.
