About this role
Clinical Specialist role supporting joint replacement surgeons in the operating room with both manual and robotic (Mako SmartRobotics(TM)) procedures. You will assist with CT-based planning, implant sizing and registration, manage case preparation and system setup, troubleshoot issues, and participate in on-call coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain competency in solo case coverage for manual and robotic procedures
- Assist surgeons with pre-operative CT-based planning, implant sizing, and positioning
- Support full case preparation including instrumentation checks, equipment setup, and OR readiness
- Troubleshoot technical issues in the operating room
- Provide product demonstrations, cadaver labs, education programs, and customer training events plus on-call coverage
Technical Overview
Focuses on CT-based planning workflows including pre-operative planning support, implant sizing, registration, and intra-operative real-time support. Provides end-to-end case preparation (instrumentation checks, equipment setup, OR readiness), manages daily account coordination via inventory and logistics, and handles administrative case documentation and system updates.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Clinical Specialist with a Bachelor's degree (or an approved substitute combination of education and professional experience) who can support orthopedic surgeons with both manual and robotic workflows. They are comfortable with CT-based planning, implant sizing, registration, real-time OR support, and troubleshooting technical issues while maintaining calm, trust-based relationships.
