About this role
Wipfli seeks a Cloud Engineering Manager to lead the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing operation of the firm’s cloud platforms and services. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on ensuring Azure-based environments are secure, scalable, reliable, and optimized for cost and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the cloud engineering roadmap
- Manage cloud operations (monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, backup, disaster recovery, lifecycle management)
- Lead Azure platform design, implementation, and operation with security/performance/resiliency focus
- Oversee Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform, CI/CD pipelines)
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers
Technical Overview
You will own cloud operations (monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, backup/disaster recovery, and resource lifecycle management) and drive Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines. The role emphasizes Azure platform engineering best practices across security, availability, performance, resiliency, and FinOps.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an Azure-focused cloud engineering leader with 8–10+ years of cloud engineering and platform operations experience and 3+ years leading technical engineering teams. They have hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and operating cloud environments with strong security, reliability, resiliency, and FinOps cost optimization.
