About this role
This role provides remote engineering and operational maintenance for OIG infrastructure with a focus on Cohesity backup platforms and Microsoft Windows Server systems. The engineer will install, configure, patch, and support infrastructure components and deliver disaster recovery solutions while meeting Federal and EPA mandates.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational maintenance and engineering for OIG infrastructure including Cohesity DataPlatform and Windows Server
- Install, configure, and support servers and Cisco Hyperconverged/Cisco UCS components
- Design and implement disaster recovery solutions using Cisco infrastructure
- Perform OS installation, service packs, security patches, and firmware/app updates
- Use PowerShell and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit/Microsoft EndPoint Configuration Manager for automated maintenance and reporting executive stakeholders
Technical Overview
Core technologies include Cohesity DataPlatform, Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, and Microsoft Windows Server. Automation and maintenance are expected using PowerShell, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, and Microsoft EndPoint Configuration Manager, plus continuous monitoring for performance/capacity/security.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior-ish system administrator/backup engineer with 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, including strong hands-on Cohesity backup administration and Microsoft Windows Server operations. They can implement disaster recovery using Cisco infrastructure components, automate maintenance with PowerShell and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit/Endpoint Configuration Manager, and produce executive-level reports while meeting Federal and EPA mandates.
