About this role

The Commercial Engineer - Process works with sales teams and Rockwell’s partner network to provide technical expertise for process automation solutions. The role supports opportunity pursuits and delivers technical consulting across RFIs, standards development, FAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting, while also enabling customers through training and demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Rockwell partners to recommend products and solutions to win process control system orders
  • Provide technical consulting for process applications across all project stages (RFIs, FAT, commissioning, troubleshooting)
  • Support customers with engineering standards, methods, and guidelines for Rockwell process technologies
  • Develop and execute complementary training for customer personnel on features and applications
  • Create product demonstrations highlighting key features

Technical Overview

This role centers on process automation solution and system design, with deep exposure to process control systems—especially Rockwell Automation’s PlantPAx solution. You apply loop control, high availability, and HMI knowledge to guide applications through testing, commissioning, configuration testing, and troubleshooting, plus support legacy migrations and proof-of-concept efforts.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior commercial engineer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in engineering, configuration, and start-up of process control systems. They have significant exposure to Rockwell Automation’s PlantPAx solution and strong knowledge of loop control, high availability, and HMI application needs, supported by experience with FAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting and customer-focused technical consulting.
