Commissioning Mechanical Superintendent - Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering

This role oversees the safe and high-quality commissioning of major mechanical systems on large industrial projects. You will lead precommissioning and functional testing, troubleshoot issues, and maintain commissioning documentation while coordinating with engineering, construction, vendors, and operations teams.

• Lead daily safety meetings and ensure LOTO/permitting compliance
• Coordinate precommissioning, commissioning, and startup of mechanical systems
• Conduct system walkdowns and confirm readiness for testing/turnover
• Supervise functional testing including flushing, hydrotesting, alignment, leak checks
• Maintain commissioning documentation (checklists, test records, redlines) and provide status updates

The technical scope includes mechanical precommissioning, commissioning, and startup of systems such as pumps, piping, rotating equipment, and HVAC. You will supervise functional testing tasks including flushing, hydrotesting, equipment alignment, leak checks, and mechanical runins, with strong documentation control using checklists, test records, and redlines.

The ideal candidate is a mechanical commissioning leader who can safely oversee precommissioning, commissioning, and startup of major mechanical systems. They will be experienced in functional testing activities (flushing, hydrotesting, equipment alignment, leak checks, mechanical runins), lead daily safety meetings including LOTO/permitting, and maintain complete commissioning documentation and status updates.
