Completions Painter B

Completions Painter B prepares aircraft surfaces and applies primer, filler, and finish coatings to help ensure smooth, paint-ready results. The role includes surface sanding and refinishing tasks such as chemical paint removal and optional duties like alodine application and sealing components.

• Prepare aircraft surfaces prior to painting and mark areas to be filled.
• Mix hardener and filler and apply for smoothing and contouring.
• Spray primer, paint filler, and protective paint on prepared surfaces.
• Rough and finish aircraft parts using sandpaper and hand sanding machines for surface adhesion and smooth appearance.
• Apply paint and perform own-work quality responsibility; perform duties such as alodine, washing aircraft, or sealing components as needed.

Performs paint preparation and aircraft spray painting using spray guns and brushes, including mixing hardener and filler and applying primer/paint filler/protective coatings. Completes sanding/roughening/finishing with sandpaper and hand sanding machines and works from oral and written instructions while meeting shop quality requirements.

The ideal candidate is an aircraft painting professional with 1+ year of experience in paint preparation and aircraft spray painting. They are skilled in surface preparation, mixing hardener and filler, applying primer/paint filler/protective coatings, and performing sanding with sandpaper and hand sanding machines to achieve required finishes. They also follow written and oral instructions, take pride in quality of their own work, and can work in environments with paint fumes.
