About this role
This VP-level role owns engineering and operational responsibilities for enterprise compute, storage, virtualization, and backup technologies. You will manage Linux environments across on-premises and public cloud, respond to alerts, harden security, and automate operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Linux server lifecycle (deployment, maintenance, security, decommissioning)
- Lead Linux security hardening
- Automate operational improvements across systems and storage
- Troubleshoot and resolve alerts (Linux, VMware, storage)
- Maintain Confluence documentation, manage code in Git, and track work in Jira

Core technologies include Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware, enterprise storage, and backup technologies. The role emphasizes automation using Bash, Python, Ansible, and possibly REST API scripting, with operational tracking/documentation via Confluence, Git, and Jira.

The ideal candidate is a senior systems engineer with 7+ years managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux and enterprise storage in VMware environments. They have strong troubleshooting ability, experience with Linux server lifecycle operations and security hardening, and are hands-on with scripting/automation using Bash, Python, and Ansible, plus operational tooling like Jira and Confluence.
