About this role
AECOM is seeking a Construction Inspector for its transportation team in the Montgomery, AL area. The role performs field inspections and tests to ensure roadway and bridge construction complies with contract documents, specifications, and code requirements, while supporting Senior Inspectors and maintaining accurate inspection records.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect construction work and conduct field tests for compliance with contract documents
- Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements
- Perform daily field inspections and maintain inspection records
- Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning and track quality assurance progress
- Conduct inspections, observations, and run materials tests while checking construction work
Technical Overview
This is a construction inspection and QA-focused role involving daily field inspections, monitoring conformance to quality/performance/specifications/code requirements, participating in punch lists, testing, and commissioning, and running materials tests. The inspector will monitor on-site construction activities and assist with quality assurance progress tracking for roadway and bridge construction projects.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an inspection-focused professional with a High School Diploma and 2+ years of related experience. They have strong construction inspection skills, including daily field inspections, maintaining inspection records, running materials tests, and verifying compliance with contract documents, specifications, and code requirements. They communicate clearly in English and can assist Senior Inspectors on roadway and bridge construction, with preferred certifications such as FDEP Stormwater and CTQP/IMSA as a plus.
