About this role
AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support construction project delivery in pre-construction, construction, and closeout. The role coordinates scheduling, budgeting, compliance, change processes, and payment applications, while supporting plan check approvals and SWPPP monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage technical support and projects across pre-construction, construction, and closeout
- Coordinate delivery activities including planning, design, budgeting, scheduling, and labor compliance
- Review RFC, COP, and CD documentation for quality assurance and merit
- Analyze critical path and recovery schedules; monitor progress against approved timelines
- Conduct constructability reviews, SWPPP monitoring, site walks, and closeout/certification coordination
Technical Overview
This position focuses on execution support for education construction projects, emphasizing schedule management (critical path/recovery schedules), change order documentation (RFC/COP/CD), and closeout coordination (submittals, approvals, and certifications). It also includes constructability reviews for code compliance and monitoring of the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an early-career construction project engineer with a BA/BS and 2+ years of relevant experience supporting construction project delivery from pre-construction through closeout. They have hands-on experience with scheduling (critical path), change order processes (RFC/COP/CD), constructability reviews, and compliance items such as SWPPP and building code/DSA coordination.
