About this role

Lead video codec and video pipeline analysis for IP monetization and litigation support. You will manage technical delivery including patent analysis, test bench design, and standards-to-claims mapping for client projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Associate Consultants on client projects involving video compression and video delivery technologies
Own patent analysis and IP monetization research for video codecs
Analyze, reverse engineer, and test video codec implementations and pipelines
Design and execute test benches for codec evaluation and compliance
Review video coding specifications/reference software and map technical details to patent claims

Technical Overview

Hands-on analysis, reverse engineering, and testing of video codec implementations and workflows (AV1, HEVC, HDR, H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, VVC). Builds test benches to evaluate codec behavior, compression efficiency, rate–distortion performance, and standards compliance, then maps results to patent claims and accused products.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a mid-level technical consultant with hands-on experience analyzing, reverse engineering, and testing video codecs and video delivery pipelines. They can lead patent analysis and IP monetization research (technology due diligence, claim charting, prior art searching) for standards like AV1, HEVC, H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, and VVC. Strong communication and client-support experience (including expert witness support) are essential.
