About this role
Balance of Plant (BOP) Controls Engineer responsible for designing, maintaining, modifying, and optimizing plant control systems for a nuclear power facility. The role focuses on reliable turbine-generator, feedwater, cooling water, condensate, and auxiliary system performance with strong configuration control and cross-team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, modify, and optimize BOP control systems, Perform MkVIe troubleshooting and PLC troubleshooting/maintenance/code improvements, Manage PLC software licenses and software configuration management, Manage process historian hardware/software/tags and industrial control documentation, Provide operator training support and support 24/7 operations including emergency response
Technical Overview
Hands-on control systems engineering across PLC and DCS platforms, including MkVIe troubleshooting and code improvements. Includes process historian hardware/software/tag management, loop sheet and electrical schematic creation, PID control loop tuning, and maintaining alarm setpoints and HMI configurations.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Balance of Plant (BOP) Controls Engineer with 5+ years of industrial control systems experience in a power plant environment, familiar with MkVIe troubleshooting and PLC maintenance/code improvements. They can manage configuration control, process historian tags, and create/maintain loop sheets and electrical schematics, while supporting 24/7 operations and operator training.
