About this role

The Senior Controller is responsible for establishing financial policies and procedures, overseeing fiscal records and financial reporting, and appraising operating results against costs, budgets, and trends. The role also manages general ledger activities, directs internal controls, and supports annual audits with outside auditors while leading and developing accounting talent.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee financial policies and procedures, fiscal records, and financial report preparation
Direct internal controls in financial reporting and manage budgetary controls and cost accounting
Manage general ledger activity and allocate between various corporate entities
Ensure support for the annual audit performed by outside auditors
Evaluate the accounting department and supervise internal auditing, while developing employees and managers

Technical Overview

This is a finance leadership role focused on accounting operations and governance rather than software engineering. The controller will serve as a power user of financial systems, manage general ledger activities across corporate entities, and ensure internal controls and audit readiness across fiscal reporting, cost accounting, and budgetary controls.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior-level finance leader with a CPA or CMA and 10+ years of experience with increasing responsibility. They have deep expertise in general ledger management, internal controls, cost accounting, budgetary controls, and supporting annual audits with outside auditors, along with strong leadership and team-building capability.
