Amazon’s Controls Design Engineering team is looking for a Controls Design Engineer to help standardize and enhance global data center controls designs focused on BMS and electrical power monitoring. The role owns key design documentation and coordinates design efforts to reduce change orders, scope gaps, and schedule delays.

• Track, document, communicate and enhance global data center design standards focused on control, automation and electrical power monitoring
• Provide Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) design coordination globally
• Own specifications, points list, Basis of Design and scope documents for critical BMS/EPMS infrastructure
• Drive consistent standards across mechanical and electrical design practices
• Conduct design review, collect feedback, and unify documented solutions to reduce change orders and schedule delays

You will coordinate global BMS and EPMS design standards, performing design review and maintaining associated documentation such as specifications, points lists, Basis of Design, and scope documents. The technical focus is on control, automation, and electrical power monitoring systems used in data center projects across new construction and legacy enhancements.

The ideal candidate is a Controls Design Engineer with strong experience in data center environmental controls systems and a solid understanding of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS). They can coordinate global design standards, own specification artifacts (specifications, points lists, Basis of Design, and scope documents), and drive measurable cost/schedule improvements through design review and feedback loops.
